Overview of SOGI-Based Single-Phase Phase-Locked Loops for Grid Synchronization Under Complex Grid Conditions

Synchronization is the key part to ensure high performance of grid-connected systems. Phase-locked loop (PLL) one most popular synchronizations due its simple implementation and robustness under certain grid variations. Particularly, in single-phase applications, PLL based on second-order generalized integrator (SOGI-PLL) widely used because structure, filtering ability frequency adaptability. The sensitivity SOGI-PLL dc offset low-order harmonics has been studied a lot literature many solutions have proposed. However, as more power electronic devices are integrated into recently, condition becomes complex. As result, nonlinear coupling phenomenon severe obvious thus degraded lot, especially conditions variations weak grid. A method use frequency-fixed (FFSOGI-PLL) while how eliminate estimation error remain an important task. Though some scattered methods proposed, yet effective strategy still missing. Besides, it shown that system stability margin will be reduced negative-resistance behavior PLL. models derived current documents cannot accurately reveal instabilities caused by standard for missing dynamics feedback loop. Moreover, parameters usually designed according bandwidth guarantee How optimize unclear. In view this, this article further summarizes reviews existing achievements SOGI-PLL, points out problems solved development direction improve complex non-ideal conditions.
